Charles Doug Haston, 71, of Greensburg, formerly of Anderson, passed away on Decemeber 5, 2006 at 2:10 pm at the St. Francis Hospital. He was born on July 21, 1935 in Sparta, TN, the son of Edwin Smith and Ethel Jane (Dodson) Haston. Doug married Deloris "Dee" Shaw on June 11, 1955 in Anderson, IN. Doug was a fireman at the Anderson Fire Department prior to his move to Greensburg. He then became Sheriff Deputy on the Reserves in Decatur County for 20 years. He also worked as a maintence man at KB Foods. Doug was a member of the F.O.P.
He was survived by:sons- Douglas (Patricia) of Greenwood, Brian (Dawn) Haston of Omaha, NE, daughter- Karla (Jerry) Creech of Greensburg, sisters- Marcia (Steve) Bowers of Anderson, Mary Ockomon of Anderson, brothers - Ernie (Betty) Haston of Greensburg, BIll (Marilyn) Haston of Anderson, Dave (Sue) Haston of Sparta, TN, 11 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother- Jim Haston, and sisters- Margaret Swafford, and MIldred Cochran.
A visitation for the family and friends will be held on Friday, December 8, 2006 form 3 pm to 7 pm at the Gililand-Howe Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 2 pm at the West Sheridan Baptist Church og Greensburg, IN. A burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. Rev Elmo Peters will be officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the West Sheridan Baptist Church and to the Leukemia and Lymphonia Society.
