Mary Ruth (Haston) Ockomon, 84, Anderson, died April 17, 2009 at Monticello House after an extended illness.

She was born August 29, 1924 in Sparta, Tennessee, and lived in Anderson most of her life.

She retired in 1978 from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 29years of service.

She was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church and U.A.W. Local #662. Mary enjoyed her family.

Survivors include her children, Dixie (Jerry) Burmeister of Pendleton, Roger (Kathy) Ockomon of North Webster, IN, Kris (Ann) Ockomon of Anderson and Skip (Diana) Ockomon of Anderson; brothers, Ernie (Betty) Haston of Greensburg, Bill (Marilyn) Haston of Anderson, & Dave (Sue) Haston of Sparta, TN; sister, Marcia (Steve) Bowers of Anderson; ten grandchildren, Jennifer McCoy, Amy Burmeister, Carrie Jenkins, Ryan Ockomon, Jake Ockomon, Amanda Ockomon, Austin Ockomon, Melissa Heffelfinger, Audrey McGonigle, & Mindy Schaefer; fourteen great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Bruce, Danny, Linda, and Jerry Swafford, Patsy York, Liz Miller, Teresa Halsell, Billy Gay Haston, Jimmy Haston, Jr., Mark, Eric, & Susan Haston, Gary, Kim, & Alan Cochran, Carla Creech, Doug & Brian Haston, Deanna Clouse, Mary Katherine Phillips, Gail Ann Pawlik, Paula Beth Reeves, David Haston, Jr., Shane Haston, and Ronnie & Jeff Busby; and special friend, Mary Ruth Haston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Loron Ockomon, whom she married on December 18, 1948, in August of 2001; parents, Edwin Smith & Ethel Jane (Dodson) Haston; siblings, Margaret Swafford, Jim Haston, Mildred Cochran, and Doug Haston; nephews, Scott Haston and Greg Haston; grandson, Thomas Clinton "Chip" Walker; and special friend, Jerry Jean Burmeister.

Visitation will be from 2-8 PM on Monday, April 20, 2009 at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.

Services will be Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 1:00 PM, at the funeral home's south chapel, with Rev. John Hackney and Pastor Doug Phillips officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson .
