ANDERSON - Margaret Alise (Haston) Swafford, 75 died September 30, 1997 at St. John's Medical Center after a brief illiness.
She was born November 09, 1921 in Sparta, Tennessee and lived in this area since 1940. She retired form Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 28 years of employment. She served on the Executive Board of Retirees at Delco and was an antique collector and enjoyed crafts.
Survivors include four children, William Bruce and his wife Dee Dee Swafford; Danny Joe and wife Cathy Swafford; Jerry Lynn Swafford and Linda and husband Bruce Jolliff, all of Anderson; five brothers Ernest and his wife Betty Haston of Greensburg; James Haston of Anderson; Bill and his wife Marylin Haston of Anderson; Douglas and his wife Dee Haston of Greensburg; Dave and his wife Sue haston of Anderson; two sisters, Mary and her husband Paul Ockomon of Anderson and Marcia and husband Steve Bowers both of Anderson. Eight Grandchildren, David Swafford of Anderson, Tim House of Anderson, Christa Clarke of Anderson, Katie Rains of Chesterfield, Joshua Wallace of Anderson, Stephanie Anderson of Marion, Kelli Swafford of Anderson and Danielle Swafford of Anderson.
Her husband, William Mode Swafford, died in 1971. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Smith and Ethel (Dodson) Haston; sister Mildred Cochran; and grandson Joseph Ross Swafford.
Services will be 1pm Saturday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel, with Rev. Tim Warrum officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is 2 to 8 pm. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children.
