Martin was born in Fairfield April 26, 1915, son of the late Jacob A. and Ruth (Harbaugh) Martin. All his life was lived in the Midvale and Waynesboro area. He was a graduate of the Smithsburg High School with the class of 1933.
He and his wife had lived at the present residence since their marriage in February 1948.
With the exception of seven years, when he was employed by Homes by Keystone Martin was engaged in farming all of his active life.
He was a member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. Martin was also a member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Association.
In addition to his wife, Mrs. Rebecca (Eigenbrode) Martin, he is survived by these children; Mrs. Lois A. Reynolds, Samuel L. Martin and Mrs. Wilma L. Rebuck, all of Waynesboro, and Mrs. Jean E. Mellott, Chambersburg. Also surviving are four grandchildren and these brothers and sisters, Gilbert Martin, Mrs. Leone Fitz and Miss Cleo Martin, all of Harbaugh Church Road, Earl Martin of Greencastle, Clyde Martin, College Park, Md. and Mrs. Beulah Mentzer, Waynesboro.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Grove Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Guy R. Buch and the Rev. Samuel Sheffler. Burial will be in the Harbaugh Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
