Polly was born to Andrew and Margaret Blackburn Robson in Aspatria, Cumberland. She was their fourth natural daughter. Margaret's son also lived with the family. It was after her birth the couple gained to other children - a nephew, then a niece.

Andrew brought his family to the US and settled in NE in 1885. When the family first settled in Cedar County, she met Jim Thompson from IL. They married 20 May 1891.

The couple had seven children; plus one child died in infancy. They must have been a very devote family. Three of their sons became ministers and one daughter became a missionary. A fourth son was wounded in WWII and became very active in his church.

Two of Polly's daughters lived in IA. I don't know if she died there or NE. She preceded her husband in death. But they are buried together in Concord Cemetery. I've seen their tombstone on NE Gravestones.com.

The only picture I have of Polly was taken with her mother and sisters. It's on her mother's memorial
