Funeral services will be held for Nathan Anders, Sr., 73, of Natchez, Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Apostolic Faith Pentecostal Church in Cloverdale. Burial will be in the Natchez City Cemetery with Bro. Ed Weatherly and Bro. W.D. Thompson officiating.
A son of the late Edmond Rowan Anders and Jemima Viola Davis Anders, he was born in Franklin County, Mississippi on September 4, 1903. Nathan Anders died Tuesday at the Natchez Community Hospital. The body will remain at Laird Funeral Home until 1:30 p.m., Thursday.
He was a resident of Natchez for most of his life and was a member of the Apostolic Faith Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Stella V. Gray Anders of Natchez; two sons, Nathan Anders, Jr. and wife Hazel of Selma, Alabama and Rev. Patrick Anders, Sr. and wife Clara of Natchez; two daughters Mary F. Zimmerman and husband MC and Margaret M. Davis and husband LA; all of Natchez; three brothers, Archie Anders, John D. Anders, and Davis Anders all of Natchez; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Gray of Natchez and Mrs. Eunice Catoire, of Gonzales, La.; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jessie Daniels, Kenneth Walker, Donnie Wilson, Rev. Jimmy Wheeler, Rev. Paul Arnold, and Rev. Gary Floyd. Laird Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
