Flossie M. Acord
BOLT - Mrs. Flossie Mae Acord, 81, died Tuesday at 2:20 p.m. in a Beckley hospital after a long illness.
Born Oct. 12, 1899, at Peach Tree, she was a daughter of the late John and Perlina Morris Acord.
Mrs. Acord was a member of the Bolt Fundamental Baptist Church.
Her husband, Lacy James Acord, died Sept. 13, 1952, and two sons, Harless Acord, July 15, 1970, and Denzil Acord, Aug. 30, 1963.
Survivors include seven sons, Woolsey, Johnnie and Buddy Acord, all of Bolt, Glenn and Gail Acord, both of Ravencliff, Jack Acord of Cyclone and Roger Acord of Sabine; two daughters, Mrs. Agnes Belcher of Bolt and Mrs. Portalee Davis of Glen Fork; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Acord of Beckley; 34 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Bolt Fundamental Baptist Church with the Revs. Lee Swor and Doff Harvey officiating. Burial will be in the Acord Cemetery at Bolt.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Melton Mortuary chapel and at the church one hour prior to services.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
