Funeral services for Gilbert Lee Franklin, 47 years of age, were held Sunday at 1 o'clock from the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. D. L. Druien in charge. Burial was at Saloma. Mr. Franklin, a veteran of the World War and a victim of gas, died at the government sanatorium at Chillecothe, Ohio Friday of tuberculosis. He had been a patient there for several months. He was a native of the county, a member of the Baptist church. He was married to Miss Marie Farris in 1927 who survives him. He leaves three sons and a daughter: Norman, Cletus, Garnett, and Shirley. He is also survived by his father, L. W. Franklin; a brother and four sisters: Johnny Franklin, Louisville, Mrs. Chester Quisenberry, Lebanon, Mrs. Henry Druien, and Mrs. Charlie Druien, both of near Saloma.
