Nicholas Thoennes died quite suddenly Saturday morning at 3:20 o'clock at the family residence, 1407 Grove street. He was taken ill about 2 o'clock and Dr. Ruschli was called, but Mr. Thoennes died before the physician reached the house. Coroner Hannell viewed the remains and attributes Mr. Toennes' death to heart trouble. Mr. Thoennes was born in Lafayette on August 29, 1854, and his entire life was spent here. He was a carpenter and contractor and was a good citizen. He was a member of St. Boniface church and of Star City court No. 724, Catholic Order of Foresters. Besides the widow he leaves the following children: Michael and Frederick, of Chicago; William of Windsor, Col.; Mrs. Fred Shoup, of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Joseph Meyer, Charles, Rudolph, Robert, Albert, Catherine, Helen and Lillian Thoennes, all of this city. The funeral will be held at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning from St. Boniface church with interment in St. Boniface cemetery.
