Christian George Roeck, 66, passed away late Monday following a short illness.
The deceased was born in Ebenezer, N.Y., on July 22, 1883, the son of the late Rev. John and Anna Roeck. The family moved to Kiel in 1890.
He learned the baker's trade in Oshkosh, and after working in Milwaukee, established Roeck's Bakery in Kiel in 1908. He has owned and operated the bakery for the past 41 years.
He was married in 1906 to Helen Duecker of Kiel. He was a member of the Equitable Reserve association, and a faithful member of the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church.
Survivors include the widow; two sons, Harry and Lawrence, both of Neenah; one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Evelyn) Postel of Kiel; three brothers, Emanuel of Chicago, John of New Holstein, and the Rev. Carl of Toledo, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Adolph Zimmerman of Mellon, Wis., Mrs. Mary Duecker, Mrs. Gustave Stoelting and Mrs. Oscar Kazmeier, all of Kiel; and one granddaughter.
Two sons and one sister preceded him in death.
