Lawrence Roeck, Banta official, succumbs at 63

 NEENAH-- Lawrence C. Roeck, 63, senior vice president of the George Banta Co. Inc., of 1109 E. Forest Ave., died at 8:50 p.m. Monday.

He was born Sept. 20, 1911, in Kiel and received his education in that city and at Lawrence University, where he earned his bachelor degree in 1933. He began his business career with the Banta Co. after his graduation, became a director and secretary-treasurer in 1951 and was named senior vice president and director in 1974, a post he held at the time of his death. He was also a director of Northwestern Colorgraphing, Daniels Packaging Co., Ling Products, Columbus Bank Note Co., Hart Press Inc. and Demco Educational Corp., Banta subsidiaries.

 He served as an officer in the Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, North Shore Golf Club and BPOE No. 676, and had been active with the Kidney Foundation for many years.

Survivors are the widow, one son, James M. Roeck, Fort Wayne, Ind.; one daughter, Mrs. David (Mary) Emke, Menasha; one sister, Mrs. Lloyd Postel, Kiel, and one grandson.

 Memorial services will be held in the chapel of First Presbyterian Church at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
