In Memory of Mrs. Mary Magee

Thursday morning at 5 o'clock, the death angel entered the home of C. R. Wilkes, and claimed the sweet spirit of dear old Aunt Mary Magee. She had just passed her 87th birthday and up until her fall several weeks ago, was very active and vigorous for one of her age. Flu-pneumonia hastened her death. She was a dear, sweet old soul, and many there are who will miss her welcome smile and genial hand clasp, but most of all who will miss her will be her daughter, Mrs. C. R. Wilkes, with whom she made her home, and to where for many years the companionship of mother had been very dear. But she should not grieve for God spared her many years beyond her allotted time. During her husband's life-time, their home was the center of attraction for the young people of the community. Their doors were thrown open at all times for their enjoyment and many for generations back will hold fond memories of these dear old people and of their hospitality.

The following children survive: Mrs. Manda McDonald, Bassfield; Mrs. Joe Harvey, Carson; Mrs. C. R. Wilkes, Comumbia; Jeffie Magee, Bassfield; Prof. Ira Magee, Sumrall; Laurin Magee, Columbia. Four brothers also survive, Dock, Thad, Pink Broom, of Bassfield, and Albert Broom, Carley. She leaves 27 grandchildren, 47 great grand children, and 16 great great grand children.

Dear children, let not your hearts be troubled for life is fleeting fast, and thou we shall soon stand before the judgment to give account of the deeds done in the flesh.

Live pure and clean lives and live of service for God. Goodness promotes happiness and "virtue has it's own reward."

Mother has gone to be with Jesus and is happy in His kingdom of love. Meet me dear children and loved ones. In that happy home of the soul above.
