R.E. Berrett
MAGNA- Richard Edward Berrett, 85 of Magna, retired farmer, formerly of North Ogden, died Berrett of causes incident to age. Mr. Berrett was a member of the LDS Church and served as high priest. He was a ward teacher in the North Ogden ward for many years. He lived in North Ogden until 1919 when he moved to Pleasant View where he farmed until 1942. He then moved to Ogden, residing there until 1948 wen he and his wife moved to Magna to reside with their daughter, Mrs. Hazel B. Jones.
He was born Aug, 23, 1867 in North Ogden, a son of Richard Thomas and Mary Ann Nunns Berrett. On Dec 22, 1883, he married Isabel ford in North Ogden. The marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Salt lake Temple. Mrs. Berrett died three years ago .
Surviving are four sons and two daughters; Edward Berrett, Pleasant View; Lloyd Berrett, Roy; Floyd Berrett, Magna; Leon F. Berrett, LaCanada, Calif., Mrs. James E. (Hazel) Jones, Magna, and Mrs. W.A. (Mae) Hughs, South Gate, Calif.; 17 grandchildren, 21 great - grandchildren, one great - great - grandchild, three half-brothers and two half-sisters: Thomas E. Berrett, North Ogden, Orson T. Berrett, Roy; Earl R. Berrett, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Emily Blaylock, Ogden, and Mrs. Edna Lyons, Logan.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 ;.m. in the LDS Pleasant View Ward, Bishop J. Elmer Thomas of the Spencer Ward, Magna, officiating. Friends may call at the home of a son, Edward Berrett, intersection of Pleasant View and Alberta Dr., tomorrow from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in North Ogden cemetery, directed by Aultorest Mortuary, 836 36th St, Ogden.
