MRS. ALTA CASTLE DIED LAST NIGHT AT HOSPITAL
Mrs. Alta G. Castle, 76, of 618 Samuel street died at 11:50 last night at the Chillicothe hospital where she had been a patient for six weeks.
Mrs. Castle, daughter of E. W. and Minnie (Davis) Dowell, was born Nov. 16, 1874 in Linn County near Eversonville.
She spent most of her life in Carroll County near the Oakland Christian Church community. On August 30, 1919 she married Ralph Castle in Chillicothe. he survives of the home. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Betty Castle, and grandchildren Kurt Dawayne and Kimberly Sue of Chillicothe.
Other survivors include four brothers, G.W. Dowell of Liberty; Rudy Dowell of Yuma, Colo.; Cleo Dowell, Rockford,, Colo; Arthur E. Dowell, Needles, Calif; a sister, Mrs. Marguerite Helvie, of the state of California.
Mrs. Castle was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Ralph W. Castle.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Oakland Christian Church with the Rev. John Gooding officiating.
Interment will be in Resthaven Me3morial Gardens. The body will lie in state at Lindley Funeral Home until noon Sunday at which time it will be taken to the church to lie in state until 1:55 when the casket will be closed and not reopened.
