Ralph R. Castle, 81, formerly of 618 Samuel Street, died at 4:30 p.m. yesterday at Livingston Manor, where he had resided since last June. He was a retired trucker.
He was born March 25, 1898, in Carrol County, son of Henry L. Castle and Vashit L. (Ferguson) Castle. He married Alta G. Dowell on August 30, 1919, and Mr. and Mrs. Castle made their home in Chillicothe for many years beginning with the 1920s. Mr. Castle was engaged in the trucking business and was a member of the Highview Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Lightfoot, and two grandchildren, Curt DeWayne and Kimberly Sue Castle of Chillicothe.
He was preceded in death by his wife in January of 1971; his parents, and a son, Ralph W. Castle.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Lindley Funeral Home with the Rev. Merlin Shively officiating. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Heart Fund. They may be left at the funeral home.
