Mr. Joe Henry Pierce, 83 years old, of Caruthersville, died February 14, 2008 at his home.
He was a truck driver for AmeriGas.
He was a veteran of World War II, and member of V.F.W. and American Legion Post 88.
Mr. Pierce was born Jan. 22, 1925, in Steele, MO, the son of the late John Robert and Ethel Smith Pierce. He married Georgia P. Bostic in Piggott, Arkansas on Jul 13, 1948.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Donald, J.R., Howard, and Paul Pierce, and two sisters, Marie Pratt and Elsie Sloan.
Mr. Joe Henry Pierce leaves the following to cherish his memory, his wife, Georgia Pierce of Caruthersville; two sons, Joe Robert Pierce and his wife, Lynn, of Wilmington, Delaware; George Phillip Pierce and his wife, Joyce, of Caruthersville; three grandchildren; three brothers, Frank Pierce of Caruthersville; Jerry Pierce of San Antonio, Texas; and Harold "Buddy" Pierce of Charleston; two sisters, Lavern Carter of Caruthersville; and Shelby Jean Ray of Washington; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Memorial services were held Thursday, February 21, 2008, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with full military honors. Entombment was in the Columbarium. John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti, is in charge of arrangements.
