Levi Francis Salyers, a former citizen of Johnson county, died at his home in Boyd county April 5. He was born in this County August 26, 1943, and was 86 years old. He had lived in Boyd county for the past 43 years. He is survived by his wife, fifteen children, seventy-three grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. There were nineteen children in the family, four having preceded him in death. He is also survived by four sisters, one of whom is Mrs. Wm. Daniel, of Paintsville, and a large number of relatives in Johnson county. Funeral services were held in Ashland with burial in the Catlettsburg Cemetery.

Levi Francis Salyers died at his home on Hoods Creek in Boyd County April 5th, 1930. He was a prominent farmer of the Hoods Creek district and was loved and respected by his wide circle of friends and neighbors who knew him as "Uncle Frank."
He was born in Johnson County, Ky., August 26th, 1843, and was 86 years old at the time of his death. He lived in Boyd County for the past 43 years.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, fifteen children, seventy-three grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. There were nineteen children in the family, four having preceded him in death. 3 sisters and one brother also survive.
The children are: Shanklin Salyers of Lumberton, N.C.; Jack of Louisa; Isaac of Starrett, W. Va.; Ballard of Portsmouth, Ohio; Jay and Clarence of Wayland, Ky.; Lewis of Logan, W. Va.; Sanford and Chester of Ashland; Mrs. Mary Holbrook of Paintsville; Mrs. Ollie Wright of Lorado, W. Va., Mrs. Martha Coldiron and Mrs. Ethel Gilkerson of Portsmouth, O.; Mrs. Esta Hale and Mrs. Mary Bentley of Catlettsburg. A brother Shankin Salyers of Ashland, three sisters: Mrs. Mary Ramey of Paintsville; Mrs. Belle Bailey of Ashland and Mrs. Rachel Wheeler of Ashland also survive.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow from the Clyffeside Hilltop church with Rev. Castle in charge of the services. Burial will be made in the Catlettsburg cemetery.
