Delayed word of the Aug. 28 death of Lee E. Beamon, 62, of Rock Hill, M d. reached Bluefield Thursday. A former coal miner in this area, he was a son of the late Riley and Jane Dowell Beamon of North Carolina. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include one daughter of Sandlick, West Virginia; two sisters, Mrs. D. E Howell of Bluefield and Mrs. Robert Gilley of West Jefferson, N. C., and two brothers, Claude Beamon of Rhodell and George Beamon of Hinton. Funeral services were conducted Aug. 30 at Chestertown, Md., with Rev. Buford Painter. Bluefield native, officiating and burial in Baltimore National Cemetery.
