William Johnson
Funeral services are to be held at 11 am Thurs. at Wheelersburg Missionary Baptist Church for William Riley Johnson, 75, of North St., Wheelersburg, who died Mon. at Mercy Hospital.
He was a native of Elliott Co., Ky, a retired employee of Empire-Detroit Steel, a member of Wheelersburg Missionary Baptist Church, the men's Bible Class of the Church, a former trustee of the church, a charter member of Sciotoville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3638, a member of the Veterans of World War I Barracks 3164, a veteran of World War 1 and a member of the United Steelworkers Union.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Johnson; four sons, Gene L. of Palm Bay, Fla., James D. of Cleveland, William Gary of Wildemire St., Wheelersburg, and Jon Keith, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Joyce Ruggles of Louisville, Ky; Mrs. Shirley Shelton of Oak Hill, and Mrs. Sue Litz of Philadelphia, Pa.; 7 brothers, Leonard of Argillite, Ky, and John, Richard, Lonnie, Nathan, James and Ward, all of Lucasville; four sisters, Mrs. Martha Adkins of Lucasville, Mrs. Violet Campbell, 1902 Timmonds Ave., Miss Marybelle Johnson of Lucasville, and Mrs. Virginia Smith of Chicago, Ill.; and 11 grandchildren.
Rev. Ronald F. Grollimund is to officiated at the services with interment to be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Military graveside services are to be conducted by Veterans of World War 1 Barracks 3136.
