lived in Oldtown,Kentucky until the age of 17 .His family moved to a farm in Lucasville,Ohio.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army stationed in Indiana. The Army base tranferred to Fort Campbell ,Kentucky and he was in charge of tranporting the mules there. He met the love of his life ,Alwilda, at a dance in Lucasville. They married and had ten children . He worked at Stoney's Grocery, Gahm's Grocery, Moores Hardware,True Value Hardware, Turners Implement Company and Valley Local Schools.
