Blaine Berger passed away suddenly on the morning of May 14, 2021 at the age of 91. Always staying busy, he was working on a task from one of his famous "to do lists" at the time of his death.

Born on February 3, 1930 in Murray, Utah to C.E. "Ev" and DeLora Bosen Berger. On April 27, 1950 he married his sweetheart, Elaine Tapp. They were married for 68 years until her death in 2018. A proud union member, Blaine worked for Kennecott Copper for 37 years and was pleased to say he had been retired for longer than he worked.

He and his wife Elaine were self-described road rats, camping fishing and bowling in tournaments across 46 states. They also enjoyed many years at their cabin in Fruitland, which sported an 18-hole scrub tree and dirt golf course fondly known by family and friends as "Pebble B^%^". Blaine and Elaine traveled and did genealogical research which included visiting obscure grave sites, cleaning and photographing the markers, researching death histories, and posting the information to online sites such as Find-a-Grave. As a result of their work, they received many grateful acknowledgments from people finally able to locate lost family information. Following the death of his wife he brought great comfort to many in the grief classes he attended at the Murray Heritage center. He appreciated the members of his ward and his neighbors for their support and kindness.

He was a great storyteller -- although frequently the embellishments could be called into question, particularly when you could spot the twinkle in his eyes. A kind and loving man, his stories and his smile will be missed.

A viewing will be held Saturday May 22, 2021 from 9:30-10:45 am at Little Cottonwood 20th Ward, 1160 East Vine Street, Murray, Utah. At 11:00 am, there will be a brief graveside service at the Murray City Cemetery.
