She was born May 2, 1914, in Wallsburg, Utah, to Annie Mecham and Lewis Forest Farley. She married Conway William Chapman on June 29, 1934; solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1945. He died May 1970.
She was active in the LDS Church, serving as homemaking work director on ward and stake levels for many years. She was called to be an usher in the Provo Temple and served in the youth center in Provo Temple for 18 years.
She cared for her invalid mother and her husband, who was injured in a motorcycle accident soon after their marriage. She gave many years of caring service to everyone around her.
She is survived by two daughters and one son, Carol (Jack) Burr, Verena (Dan) Zabriskie and Robert (Patty) Chapman; one brother, Earl (Marlene) Farley; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband; father; mother; one son, Duane; and one stillborn son; four brothers, Blaine, Rex, Roy and Bert; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 E. Center Street, Provo. Friends may call on Thursday one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Provo City Cemetery.
