Iwo Wounds Fatal To Provo Marine

Pvt. Bert Mecham Farley, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest L. Farley, Provo, and whose widow is Mrs. Ida Davis Farley, Kamas, died March 3 of wounds suffered on Iwo Jima.

A native of Provo, he was born March 12, 1922, and was graduated from Provo high school. He enlisted in June, 1944, and went overseas in November.

Survivors include his widow and a son Dennis Farley; a daughter, Linda Farley; a sister, Mrs. Maybell Chapman, and four brothers, Blaine Wesley, Rex Albert and Earl Lewis Farley, Provo, and Roy Forrest Farley, USN Pacific, and a grandmother, Mrs. Nancy A. Farley, Pleasant Grove.
