MRS. FRANK KALINA

Josephine Svanda was born July 20, 1867, at Kuklik #50 in Moravia, Czechoslovakia. She died November 24, 1930, at the age of 63 years, 4 months and 3 days. Fifty-five years ago she came to America with her parents, brothers and sisters, and located in this vicinity. On March 31, 1887, she was united in marriage with Frank Kalina. They settled on a farm near Table Rock, and have made this community their home ever since. She leaves a husband and five sons, Frank, Joseph, Rudolph, Charles and Emil. One son, John, passed away two years ago on March 1, 1929. She leaves two brothers, Tom and Nick Svanda, besides fourteen grandchildren, and other relatives and a host of friends. She was a charter member of the Z.C.B.J. lodge at Table Rock. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church. The sermon was delivered by Rev. Russell, with Frank Dobrovolny talking in Bohemian before the sermon and Rev. Caldwell assisting by offering prayer.
