Funeral services for Mrs Emma Murray, 69, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Queen Funeral Home, with Rev Lloyd Butler officiating. Burial was made in the Butler Cemetery.
Music was provided by organist Mrs. Audrene Crim, Jr., and singers, Mrs. Charles Harding and Mrs. Robert Sherfick.
Pallbearers were Lee Hatfield, Victor Murray, Jr., Dale Hatfield, John Wininger, James Freeman and Bill Hert.
Mrs. Murray died at 7:55 a.m. Wednesday, at the Daviess County Hospital. She had been in failing health for several years.
Born in Martin County on Janurary 21,1900, Emma was the daughter of Alfred and Anna (Gammon) Butler. On November 9, 1918, she married Victor Murray, who survives. Last November they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons: Hale and Garrett - Shoals, Ralph of Petersburg; and one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Hatfield, of Loogootee; fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A son and daughter are pre-deceased.
Emma has also left to survive three brothers: Roscoe and Albert of Shoals, Clarence of French Lick. In additional, there are three sisters: Mrs. Dora Gray and Mrs. Margaret Probasco, both of Shoals; and Mrs. Christina Spurgeon of West Baden.
