Franz (Frank) Komrs was born in Hompolec, Bohemia and married Wilhemia Rosicky and raised their family in Gilead, Nebraska
Franz arrived in the United States in 1862 on the ship "Europa" along with his parents Mathias & Elenora Komrs. The Rosicky family was on that ship as well which included Franz's future wife Whilhemia Rosicky. They married Dec 28, 1864 in Muscoda, Wisconsin

Article in Clark Pilot Review, Clark, SD. dated Thursday Sept 20,1917 as follows: the body of Frank Komrs of Gilead, Neb. who was killed by a fall from a scaffold on the farm of his son-in-law, W.A. Huffman, was shipped to his former home Friday. His daughter, Mrs Huffman and son, John Komrs, accompanied the remains to Nebraska. Mr Komrs was assisting with the work on a shed when the boards upon which he was standing gave way. He only fell a few feet. (He died on Frances Huffman's first birthday.)

FATAL FALL FROM SCAFFOLD-Frank Kommrs, Pioneer Resident of Gilead Vicinity, Meets with Death at Clarks, SD.

Falling from a scaffold of a machine shop, Frank Kommrs, for thirty-three years a resident of the Gilead neighborhood, was mortally injured at Clarks, S.D., Wednesday of last week and died soon afterwards. He was seventy-five years old and was there on a visit with his sister (daughter), Mrs Lester (Lesty) Hoffman (Huffman).
Mr. Kommrs settled on a farm near Gilead in 1883 and lived there until July 4,1916, when he went to Clarks, SD on a visit. He was highly respected by all who knew him. He is survived by four children; Jerry Kommrs of Newton Grove, Mont.; John Kommrs of La Moura, N.D.; Mrs Lester Hoffman of Clarks, SD and Gottlieb (Miele ?) Kommrs of Gilead.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from the family home near Gilead. Interment was in Gilead cemetery.
