Lola I. Clowser, the youngest daughter of Wayne and Frances Foster, was born on November 22, 1905, in Lucas County, Iowa, and departed this life at the Riggs Nursing Home, on December 11, 1968, at the age of 63 years and 19 days.
On December 22, 1923, she was united in marriage to Gail Borden Clowser. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Lois Lepley of Versailles, Mo., Donna Clowser of Chariton and Bobby Clowser of Corydon.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gail, her father, mother, and five brothers and two sisters.
She leaves to mourn her passing besides the three children, one son-in-law, Lewis Lepley, one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Clowser, 11 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, four sisters; Mrs. Bernice Victor of Chariton, Mrs. Alma Threlkeld of Bellingham, Wash., Mrs. Iva Hefner of Wichita, Kan., and Dr. Ila Hefner of Wray, Colo., and one brother, Leslie D. Foster of Mt. Pleasant and many other relatives and a host of friends.
Mrs. Clowser accepted Christ as her personal Saviour in February 1934 and lived a constant Christian life, until she was called to meet her loved ones who have gone on before. Mrs. Clowser was a faithful wife, a devoted mother, and a thoughful neighbor, willing and most happy to be of service to those about her. She took special delight in her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life.
Funeral services were held on Friday, December 13, at 1:30 p.m. from the Miley & Brueggemann Chapel with the Rev. J. C. Hook officiating. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
