Owen Cunningham, 81, of Elm Mott, passed away Monday, November 3, 2008, at a local hospital. Services will be 10 a.m., Friday, November 7, at Parkview Baptist Church with the Rev. John Collier and the Rev. John Bryant officiating. Burial will be at Gerald Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 6, at Bellmead Funeral Home.

Owen was born in Hillsboro, Texas, to the late Russell and Clara Mae (Battles) Cunningham. He served in the U.S. Army, was a retired welder, and a member of Parkview Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a sister; and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Cunningham, of Elm Mott; sisters, Eula Bilton, of Rusk, and Betty Jo Stolsworth and husband, James, of Beverly Hills; brothers, R.B. Cunningham, of Speegleville, and Virgil Cunningham, of Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.
