Ben was born in Hillsboro, Texas, to the late Russell and Mae Cunningham. The family moved to Birome, Texas, in 1932 where he attended school, graduating in 1947. Ben married Virginia Ann Parten in Waco. Virginia and "Shorty," as his friends and family knew him, had lived in Waco for 59 years. He was a member of the Elm Mott Baptist Church. Ben retired from Huck Manufacturing, he owned his own vending company, loved everyone with his or her projects, and had excellent skills, especially working on beautiful wood projects. Ben was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. His memory will live forever.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Nell Riley; and a brother, Glen "Pete" Cunningham.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Cunningham, of Bellmead; daughter, Linda Fay Kelly and husband, Patrick, of Austin; sons, Roy Cunningham, of Waco, Danny Cunningham and wife, Nancy, and Bennie Cunningham and wife, Carol; sisters, Eula Mae Bilton, of Rusk, and Betty Jo Stolsworth and husband, J.C., of Beverly Hills; grandsons, Brian Cunningham and wife, Tammie, of Waco, Michael Cunningham and wife, Rachea, of Italy, Shawn Shoemaker and wife, Kyndal, of Brady, Jay Cunningham, of Waco, and Colton Cunningham, of Cypress; granddaughters, Amanda Shoemaker, of Austin, and Lisa Cunningham, of Cypress; great-grandson, Miller Cunningham; brothers, R.B. Cunningham and wife, Mozelle, of Speegleville, Buford Cunningham and wife, Mildred, of Elm Mott, and Virgil Cunningham, of Robinson; many nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.
