Anna M. Smith Brandt, 85, of Lebanon Valley Brethren Home in Palmyra, formerly of East Street in Palmyra and Sebring, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 1991, in Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife the late Ira B. Brandt.

Born in Port Republic, Rockingham County, Va. she was a daughter of the late Noah F. and Laura S. Rodeffer Smith.

She retired as an elementary school teacher in the Palmyra Area School District after 36 years. After retiring, she served as a substitute teacher for different districts in Lebanon County until age 70.

She was a member of Palmyra Church of the Brethren and Loyal Workers Sunday school class of the church. She worked for the Atlantic Northeast District of the church in Christian education, began the Children's Christian Education Department of Palmyra Church the Brethren and was a former member of the Christian education committee the church.

She was a member of the Retired Lebanon County Teachers Association and the Retired Pennsylvania State Teachers Association.

Surviving is a brother, Harry A. Smith, Palmyra; and a number of nieces and nephews.
