Wilfred Hamm


Wilfred J. Hamm, 70, 8032 W. Kirksville Road, died Monday at his residence.

Born Nov. 13, 1913, in Monroe County, he was the son of Joseph H. and Lillie C. (Ham) Hamm. He was a retired stonemill worker and a member of the Stanford Baptist Church and the Stoneworkers Union. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Doris; three sons, James of Owensburg and two other sons, both of home; three daughters; three brothers, Elmer Hamm of Stanford, Charles Hamm of Ellettsville and another brother; six sisters, Freida Hall, Thelma Haganman, Stella Lloyd Pate and Lucy Marrs, all of Bloomington, Mary Koontz of Muncie and Alice Hboth of Richmond, Calif.; nine grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Frank and Joseph; two sisters and one brother.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Greene and Harrell Mortuary, with Bro. Harley Hamm officiating. Burial will be in Garrison Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call at the mortuary 7-9 p.m. today, 2-9 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
