Harry M. Godfrey

Clarkston, Cache county-Harry M. Godfrey, 75, prominent Cache County farmer, died at his home here Sunday night, following a short illness.

He was born at Clarkston, Nov. 5, 1876, a son of George and Emily Monsen Godfrey. He married Sadie Chumway, who died a short time after their marriage. He married Cora Page Sept. 1, 1915 in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He was educated in Cache County schools and has been active in L D S Church work, having served for 11 years as superintendent of the Sunday School. He was a past president of the Quorum of Seventy and filled a mission in the southern states. At the time of his death he was a high priest in the Smithfield Stake.

Surviving are his widow; nine sons and daughters, Charles Godfrey, Lewiston; Wendell Godfrey, Cornish; Mrs. Agnes Buttars, Jerome, Ida.; Victor Godfrey, Ogden; Mrs. Sadie Lott, Mesa, Ariz.; Mrs. Blanche Sparks, Spokane, Wash.; Don Godfrey, Sterling and Iva Lou Godfrey, Clarkston; 21 grandchildren; 15 brothers and sisters, Mrs. Letitia Thompson, Mrs. Beatrice Wooley and Asael Godfrey, Garland, Box Elder County; Mrs. Etta Thompson, Clarkston; Mrs. Esther Thompson, Midvale; Albert and Brigham Godfrey, Ogden; William Godfrey, Preston, Ida.; Reuben Godfrey, Soda Springs, Ida.; Mrs. Lizzie Godfrey, Hyrum and Cyril Godfrey, Mrs. Nettie Lott and Mrs. Flo Munson, Fielding, Box Elder County, and Orson Godfrey, Heber.
