Cloyd O'Deen Bowden

Our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother Goob passed away on October 20, 2008 in West Jordan, Utah. He was 82.

He was born to Clifford and Brelia Bowden on Jan. 24, 1926 in Deweyville, Utah. He married Jean Bowden on June 4, 1947 in the Logan Temple. After serving in the military in 1945, he owned and ran the D&D Market in Preston, ID. Later he worked for the BLM. He enjoyed fishing, golf and crossword puzzles. He was a fantastic pool player and an avid fan of the Utah Jazz and Denver Broncos. He spent his summer evenings enjoying his backyard patio. He loved spending time with his family. He was adored by each and every one of them, especially his wife with whom he shared a 61 year courtship. He had a deep sense of religion and patriotic duty.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Bowden; five children, Gary Bowden (Virginia), Lynne Jones (Rich), Douglas Bowden (Darcy), David Bowden (Erin) Jorjean Hill (Robert); Siblings, Darwin Bowden (Alene), Dale Bowden (Barbara), Janet Behrend, Joseph Bowden (Robyn), 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by siblings Spence Bowden and Kaye Hope and grandson Paul Jones.

Services will be held Fri., Oct. 24th at 11 a.m. at Westbrook 7th Ward 6364 S. 3200 W. The family will receive friends Thurs. evening, Oct. 23rd, from 6-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home 4335 W. 4100 S., and again at 9:30 a.m. on Fri., October 24th, at Westbrook 7th Ward prior to the 11 a.m. service. Interment will be held at Valley View Memorial Park 4400 W. 4100 S. Special thanks to the Staff at Jordan Valley Hospital. He will be loved and missed by all. Til we meet again.
