Our loving husband, father, brother and grandfather passed away Feb 11, 2010 in West Valley, Utah. He was born to Jean and Deen Bowden on December 7, 1953 in Logan, Utah. He married Darcy Lee Bowden on October 13, 1973.
He is survived by his wife, Darcy; two children, Preston (Karen) Bowden and Shelbie Bowden; six grandchildren; Tayler, Dustin, Preston Jr, Annie, Xander and Brookelyn; two brothers and two sisters. Preceded in death by his parents.
Doug married the love of his life, Darcy. He adored her for over 36 years. He brought her flowers each week. Doug loved his children. He considered his son, Preston, his best friend and his daughter, Shelbie, was always his "sweetheart". He loved playing and gardening with his grandkids. He loved to bbq, golf and watch football. He was an avid fisherman. Not catching fish didn't slow him down! He was a hard worker who loved with his whole heart. He may not have always said the right words, but he always did the right thing. He was a fighter who never quit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We love you dad.
Funeral services will be held February 16th, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Hunter 27th Ward, 4980 West 3285 South. The family will receive friends Monday evening, February 15th, from 6-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, and again at the church Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at any Wells Fargo Bank to the account in the name of Shelbie Julian/Bowden Benefit Memorial Fund.
