The Montgomery County native had spent most of his life in that county where he was a farmer and contract school bus driver. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Church and he was the son of the late John A. and Minnie Williamson Memory.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Helen Calhoun Memory, Vidalia, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. James Claxton, Tarrytown; one son, J.H. Memory, Jr., Vidalia; four sisters, Mrs. Agnes Calhoun, Tarrytown, Mrs. Ruby Hilton and Mrs. Jewel Williams, both of Vidalia and Mrs. Sibyl Williams, Clearwater, Florida; one brother, Thomas H. Memory, Jacksonville, Fla.; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Memory were held in the Murchison Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 27, 1990 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. J.P. Quattlebaum officiating and assisted by the Rev. Aaron Reaves. Interment followed in Williamson Cemetery. Murchison Funeral Home of Vidalia was in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers were Charles J. Hamilton, E.R. Allmond, Quay Allmond, Louie Calhoun, Roy Calhoun and John Memory.
