"Johnny Carl" was the son of Caleb M. ROWELL & Caroline Delanie RUSTON. He married Sarah Jane "Janie" BASINGER on 24 Jan 1909 in Bienville Parish LA. They had 13 children.

OBITUARY: Johnnie Carl Rowell
RINGGOLD, May 2 (Special) - Johnnie Carl Rowell, longtime resident of the Jamestown area near here, died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday following a long illness. He was 71. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Jamestown Baptist Church with the Rev. V. G. Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, near Ringgold, under the direction of Rockett Funeral Home of Ringgold. The body will remain at the Rockett Funeral Parlor until time of services.
He is survived by his widow, six sons, Robert Rowell, R. T. Rowell, John L. Rowell and J. C. Rowell, all of Jamestown, Odee Rowell of Shreveport, Tommie Rowell of Haughton; five daughters, Mrs. Neely Spinks of Sulphur, Mrs. Ora Lee Todd and Mrs. A. J. Tingle, both of Jamestown, Mrs. Roberta Killingsworth of Heflin, and Mrs. Mary Jane Keys of Minden; one brother, Clyde Rowell of Heflin; two sisters, Mrs. Susie Waites and Mrs. Fannie Basinger, both of Jamestown; 50 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
