Ms Adell's picture was on the cover of the Feb 2009 edition of the "Fluer de Lis", the journal of the Society for Louisiana Irises. Our family historian! From 1976-2012 she authored the "Down Home" column in "The Bienville Democrat" newspaper.

OBITUARY: Rockett Funeral Home, 17 May 2012
Ringgold, LA - Funeral services for Adell R. Tingle, 91, will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Rockett Funeral Home in Ringgold, LA. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Officiating the services will be Bro. B.R. Loftin. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday, May 18, 2012. Ms. Adell was born on February 1, 1921 in Jamestown, LA and passed away on May 16, 2012. She left a legacy of love and dedication not only to her family but also to her community. For several years, Ms. Adell enjoyed writing an article called "Down Home" in the Bienville Democrat. In her writings, she displayed her love for time spent with family and friends along with her passion for beautiful flowers. She was definitely a strong influence on those close to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Carl and Sarah Jane Basinger Rowell; her husband, James Junior Tingle; her daughter, Jeanette Bell; and granddaughter, Nicole Tingle.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, James Tingle of Ringgold, LA, Rosie Culpepper Roden and her husband Ray of Ringgold, LA, and Carlene Hadwin and her husband Steve of Ardmore, OK; brother, J.C. Rowell of Ringgold, LA; sister, Mary Jane Boyce of Minden, LA; seven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the "Peace of the Pines" walking trail at Ringgold Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ringgold (Attn: Linda Hollis).
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Ringgold Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Greg Bell, Dr. Scott Phillips, and Dr. Anil Chhabra.
