Funeral services for Scott Lane, Springfield Twp, were held on Tuesday afternoon, Dec 24, 1946 at 2PM. The services were held at the Baptist Church in Springfield Twp and were conducted by Rev. Richard Meyers and Rev. Ted Bowers. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery, directed by House's Funeral Service. Mr. Lane passed away at his late home, two miles east of Three Springs, Dec 20, 1946 at 2:10PM. He had been in failing health the past year. He was a son of Abraham Lane and Eveline (Wagner) Lane and was born Dec 16, 1859 on the same farm where he passed away. At the time of death, he was 87y and 4d old. By occupation, he was a farmer and coal miner. He was of the Baptist faith. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Ranck on Apr 23, 1882, in Springfield Twp. Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Elsie Roher, Abram Lane, Mrs. Nevada Beckwith, and Otis Lane, all of Three Springs; Frank Lane, Harrisburg; Clarence Lane, East Sparta, OH; Mrs. Elsie McMinn, Alliance, OH; Ellis Lane, Mankato, MN; Clinton Lane, Cedar Rapids, IA; and Jay Lane, Munhall, PA. Two children, Lillian and Eunice are deceased. Also surviving are 31 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Larkin Lane, Orbisonia; Mrs. Anzinetta Ramsey, Harrisburg, PA; Mrs. Alda Postelthwaite, Altoona; and Mrs. Arilla Lamberson. One sister, Mrs. Minerva Doyle is deceased.
