Elmer Franklin Lane of Three Springs, died Monday, January 9, 1961, at the State Hospital in Harrisburg.

He was born June 10, 1888, at Three Springs, a son of Scott and Mary (Ranck) Lane.

Surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Joshua (Olive) Roher, Three Springs, Mrs. Nevada Beckwith, Pasedena, CA, Otis Lane, Three Springs, Ellis H. Lane, Mankato, MN, Clinton Lane, Cedar Rapids, IA, and Jay R. Lane, Pittsburgh. Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

He was of the Methodist faith. He was a veteran of World War I and served from April 1, 1918 until May 29, 1919. Mr. Lane was a coal miner in the Broad Top area and was foreman at the Miller Mine at Joller for a number of years.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 12, at 2 p.m. from Green's Funeral Home in Huntingdon. The Rev. Paul Bell of Saltillo,will officiate. Interment will be made in the Old School Baptist Cemetery in Springfield Township, Huntingdon County. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. on Wednesday until the hour for the service.ingle
