Coy Owen Barnett, 75, of 1130 Elmore St., died at 1 p.m. Thursday in Golden Plains Community Hospital.

A retired Independent Oil Producer, he was a native of Cedar Creek, Texas, and a Borger resident for 34 years.

Barnett was a member of B.P.O.E., Moose Lodge, Shriners, and a lifetime member of Boys Ranch.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude of the home; one son, Ronald Barnett of Houston; one daughter, Darlene Archer of Scurry, Texas; two step-daughters, Lue Reynolds of Amarillo, and Alice Galyean of Borger; one sister, Adabelle Barnett of Austin; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Minton Memorial Chapel in Borger with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Cedar Creek Cemetery, Cedar Creek, Texas, under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Pallbearers will be Bob Rittenhouse, Carl Richey, Doyle Waters, Buster Gunn, Cliff Lewis, and Marshall Ford. Honorary pallbearers will be J.B. Hunt, Robert Shelton, Adolph Schmitz, Herman Jones, George Glasscock and James Savage.
