Arthur J. Preimesberger, a resident of Pierz, passed away Sunday Nov. 18, 2012, at deer camp north of Chisholm.

Mass of Christian Burial for Art Preimesberger will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz with Rev. Kenneth Popp officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4-8 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz and Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the service at the church. St. Joseph Christian mothers will pray a rosary Friday at 4:30 PM followed by parish prayers at 7 PM all at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz. Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz, MN.

Arthur was born Aug. 27, 1931, in Pierz, to the late Henry and Ottilia (Merkling) Preimesberger. He grew up in Pierz and attended St. Joseph's School. Art entered the United States Army Sept. 19, 1952, and served until his honorable discharge Sept. 18,1954. He was united in marriage to RoseMary A. Carson, July 2, 1955, at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Brennyville. The couple lived in St. Paul and Minneapolis for two years while Art worked at Bieber Woodcraft Company. In 1956, they returned to Pierz and have lived there since. Art was a self-employed carpenter/cabinet maker building homes in the area until his retirement. He built the bars at the Red Rooster and Triple Play Bar in Genola and the bar at Pine Ridge Golf Course near Motley. Art's most loved project was building the family deer hunting cabin near Chisholm. He was often teased by being called "The man without a tape measure." Art was a really good baseball pitcher. He played semi-pro baseball in Minnesota and was invited four times to come to training camp in Florida by the New York Giants, Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed deer hunting, baseball, the Vikings, all music, ice fishing, golfing and flower gardening. Most of all, Art enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz and the Pierz American Legion Post #341.

Art Preimesberger is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, RoseMary; sons, Tim (Jean) Preimesberger of New Hope and Todd (Tami)Preimesberger of Pierz; daughters, Tama (Tami) Preimesberger of Maple Grove, Tally (Mark) Moehle of Sauk Rapids and Trudee Preimesberger of Maple Grove; brothers, Henry (Delores) Preimesberger Jr. of Genola, James (Rose) Preimesberger of St. Paul, Vitus (Shirley) Preimesberger of Pierz and Al (Shirley) Preimesberger of Little Falls; sisters, Rita Langer of Shoreview, Esther Logerquist of Roseville, Judy (Ritchie) Meyer of Pierz and Patty (Gerald) Stuckmayer of Pierz; nine grandchildren, Jessica (Dave) Rocheleau, Chris (Cheryl) Preimesberger, Kelsey (Luke) Sandahl, Kara (Nick) Preimesberger, Justin Moehle, Scottie Herold, Kenzie Moehle, Amber and Baylie Preimesberger; three great grandchildren, Nick Herold, Carson Preimesberger and Ava Sandahl.

Art was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tara Herold; daughter-in-law, Jackie Preimesberger; brothers, Rod, Joseph and Patrick Preimesberger; sisters, Mildred Veith and Vitalea 'Lea' Whipple.

Casketbearers were the grandchildren. Honorary casketbearers were Art's hunting buddies.
