Henry Preimesberger Sr., 74, Pierz, died Tuesday in St. Gabriel's Hospital. He was born in Pierz, Dec. 18, 1895, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Preimesberger, and had spent all his life in that locality.
He married Ottelia Merkling in Pierz, Oct. 8, 1919, and they made their home in the village. He operated the Morrison County Lumber Co. yard in Genola for 30 years, and in 1950 established his own lumber yard, which he operated until his retirement. He had been a member of the Pierz band, and had served as secretary of the Pierz Fire Department for many years, and at one time was manager of the Pierz baseball team.
Mrs. Preimesberger survives her husband, with seven sons and six daughters: Alby and Patrick, Minneapolis; Rod, Arthur, Mrs. Louis (Mildred) Veith, Mrs. Richard (Judy) Meyer, and Mrs. Gerald (Petronella) Stuckmeyer, all of Pierz; Henry Jr., Genola; James and Vitus, Mrs. R.J. (Rita) Langer, and Mrs. John (Esther) Logerquist, St. Paul; and Mrs. John (Vitalia) Whipple, Mounds View; also 62 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Brothers are Fred, Pierz; Ed and Frank, Van Nuys, Calif. One son, Joseph, preceded his father in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Pierz, with Rev. Alfred Heltemes officiating, and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Brenny Funeral Home, Pierz, after 7 p.m. today. A parish prayer service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, and the Christian Mothers will pray the Rosary Thursday at 8 p.m.
