KOUTS -- Samuel E. Birky, 80, of 775 S. County Road 300E, died at his home Saturday apparently of a heart attack.
A Kouts area resident 62 years and a farmer, he was born in Nebraska April 24, 1900 and married Geneva Kauffman March 10, 1934 in Greentown.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. John Maxwell of Boone Grove; a son, Marion of Kouts; two sisters, Emma Good of Kouts and Mary Good of Macon, Miss.; four brothers, Jonas, Emanuel and Jake of Valparaiso and Emery of Hebron; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hopewell Mennonite Church; the Revs. Samuel Miller and John Murray officiating; burial in Hopewell Mennonite Cemetery; visitation 4 p.m. today at Kosanke Funeral Home.
