Joe F. Smith, 77, 1205 Vine Street, died Monday at 4:50 p.m. in the Sweetwater Hospital.
A native of Tennessee, he moved to Fisher County in 1908 where he lived until moving to Sweetwater in 1943.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Palava with Tommie Bonner officiating. Burial will be in Palava Cemetery under the direction of Johnston Funeral Home.
Survivors include his widow of Sweetwater; six sons, L. L. Smith and J. D. Smith of Fort Worth, E. F. Smith and Cleave Smith of Palava, L. D. Smith of Sweetwater and Earl Smith of Longworth; five daughters, Mrs. Vera Marshbanks of Snyder, Mrs. Ruby Bonner of Palava, Mrs. M. L. Durham of Brownfield, Miss Reta Smith of Fort Worth and Mrs. Ida B. Whitten of Colorado City.
