SMITH SERVICES HELD SATURDAY

Abilene - Funeral services for Floy Smith, 67, of Abilene and brother of two Sweetwater residents, were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Elmcrest Baptist Church in Abilene. Graveside rites were held in Palava Cemetery with Cate-Spencer Funeral Home assisting with the arrangements.

Mr. Smith died in Hendrick Hospital in Abilene at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

He was formerly of Palava.

Surviving him are his wife, Blanche, of the home; two sons, Billy Joe of Abilene, and Howard Gene of Mineral Wells; three daughters, Mrs. Patsy Cathell and Mrs. Mary Ruth Shiflett, both of Abilene, and Mrs. Barbara Gaston of Dallas; four brothers, L. D. (Shorty) Smith and J. D. Smith, both of Sweetwater, Cleve Smith of Palava, and L. E. Smith of Abilene; five sisters, Mrs. Bill Bonner of Palava, Mrs. Ila B. Jennings of Hastings, Nebraska, Mrs. Erma Durham of Brownfield, Mrs. J. W. (Vera) Marchbanks of Stephenville, and Miss Rita Smith of Ft. Worth; and a host of nieces and nephews.
