OBITUARY.
Maria Sophia Dorothea Werner, nee Maddaus, was born in Meiersdorf, Mecklenburg Schwerin, Germany, Feb. 8th, 1847. In 1850 she came with her parents to this country and located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
On April 3rd, 1866, she was united in marriage to John Werner and lived 41 years on the farm and later 14 years here in town.
April 3, 1916, they celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in the midst of their children and many relatives and friends.
This union was blessed with 12 children; 2 sons and 1 daughter preceded her to Eternity. Her departure is deeply mourned by her husband, John Werner and the children, Gust, Otto, John, of Francesville, William, Ludwig, Heinrich, Lena Peters, of Wisconsin; Herbert Werner and Mrs. Emma Graham, of Valparaiso, Ind., 1 brother; 27 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
She died of apoplexy, having been ill for weeks, at the age of 74 years and 4 days.
