GUST WERNER
WANATAH -- Funeral services for Gust Werner, 87 of Wanatah, who died at 12:40 o'clock of his daughter, Mrs. Otto Boehlke, will be held at the Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church in Wanatah at 2 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. Edwin Mayer officiating.
The life-long Wanatah resident was born in LaPorte County March 14, 1867. He was married November 21, 1893, in Wanatah to Emilie Rosenbaum.
The decedent was a farmer for 30 years in Noble township. He left that occupation in 1928 to manage a Wanatah poultry house until his retirement in 1944.
He is survived by a son, Bernard (Ben), Union Mills; three daughters, Mrs. Anna Boehlke, Wanatah, Mrs. Elsie Pattee, Union Mills, and Mrs. Johanna (Honie) Schlundt, LaPorte; one sister, Mrs. Emma Graham, Hammond, and a brother, William H. Wanatah.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, one son, one grandson, two sisters and seven brothers.
A brief service will be conducted at the Boehlke and Jones Funeral Home in Wanatah at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Friends may call from 3 p.m. Wednesday until time of services.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
