East Wenatchee orchardist, John Farmer, age 95, passed away June 27, 2007. He was born April 2, 1912, in Italy, TX to John R. and Mardi Farmer. John came to the Wenatchee area with his parents in 1923, and worked in the fruit industry. He married Pauline Montgomery on February 2, 1938. They lived in Monitor for 20 years, where John farmed and owned the Monitor Garage. They moved to East Wenatchee in 1966, where John continued to grow fruit. John was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Pauline; daughter, Carolyn Hyde and husband, Fred; grandchildren, Todd Hyde and wife, Laura, Loree Hyde and Paulette Gilles and husband, Matthew; great-grandchildren, Hailey Hyde, Hunter Hyde, Grant Gilles and Ruby Gilles; and one sister, Midge Tichacek. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and four brothers. Gifts in his memory can be given to the Monitor United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 293, Monitor, WA 98831, or the charity of one's choice. Graveside Service will be Monday, July 2, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park, East Wenatchee with a Memorial Service following at 3:00 p.m. at the Monitor United Methodist Church, Monitor. Telford's Chapel of the Valley is in care of arrangements.
