LEBANON ENTERPRISE OBITUARY – 07/04/1947
CLARENCE MATTINGLY DIES AT HOLY CROSS
Funeral services were conducted at the Holy Cross Church by the Rev. F.M. Burch Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock for Clarence Mattingly who died Saturday morning [June 28, 1947] at 8 o'clock at his home at Holy Cross. His passing was attributed to a complication of troubles incident to his advanced age and followed an illness of several years duration. A son of the late Mr. & Mrs. E.G. Mattingly, he was born in this county and long engaged in farming in the Holy Cross section until failing health forced his retirement. He was a devout member of the Catholic Church. Surviving him are his wife; a son, Edward Mattingly of Louisville and several brothers and sisters. Buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Holy Cross, KY.
