Kelsey Lorraine Fatheree, 95, of Pana, fomerly of Cowden and Beecher City, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 in Pana Community Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home, Pana with Rev. Robert Russell officiating. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial was in Price Cemtery, Oconee. Memorials: First United Pentecostal Church of Pana.

Mrs. Fatheree was born May 17, 1912 in Shelby County, a daughter of Lewis and Emaline (BURRIS) Denton. She cooked and ran restaurants in the area for many years. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church, Pana. She married Edwin Fatheree who preceded her in death in 1950.

She is survived by one brother, Rev. Orville C. Denton and wife Geneva; sister, Mrs. Howard L. (Myrtle) Sims, all of Pana; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, companion for 47 years, Kenneth Piefer, four brothers, and one sister.~

Her biological father, Benjamin Morton Torrence, died when she was just 6 months old. Her mother married Lewis Denton and he was really the only father she knew but he never adopted her. - email from Andrew Paisley
